Katherine A Giles 39th Annual Lorne Genome Conference 2018

Katherine A Giles

Dr Kate Giles is a postdoctoral researcher at the Children’s Medical Research Institute, and an Adjunct Researcher at the University of Tasmania. Prior to this, Kate obtained her PhD in 2019 from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where her research focused on the role of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodelling complex in epigenetic gene regulation. For her work Kate was awarded the Dean’s Award for Outstanding PhD Theses. Kate now leads a research project investigating non-canonical functions of SWI/SNF in DNA replication and genome stability. Her research investigates the consequences of an atypical chromatin environment on DNA replication and the replication stress response.
